Nadaka Nature Park
Camp Fire Columbia is excited to be back at Nadaka Nature Park for a summer of Namanu Day Camp in the City! Back at Nadaka? Yes, indeed! A past Camp Fire property, Nadaka is now owned by Gresham Parks & Recreation and managed by Friends of Nadaka and the Nadaka Nature Park Coordinator. We are excited to bring a nature-based environmental camp program that connects current Camp Fire programs with the rich history of the park.
Nadaka is a 12- acre nature park located at 176th and Glisan. Consisting of a 10-acre forest, nature based play area, picnic shelter, and community garden, Camp Fire programs at Nadaka will all have a nature focus! Day Camps begin July 10th – August 18th, with 6 one-week sessions for campers K-5th grades, Monday-Friday, from 7:00am-6:00pm. Organized programming runs from 9:00am-4:00pm, with before and after care included in the weekly pricing.
Namanu Day Camp in the City provides more than just a traditional day camp program. Our staff is trained to give our campers a voice and to let them be a part of the choices made by the group. Our staff is trained in Growth Mindset to help campers grow in a positive way and set life-long patterns for success. Namanu Day Camp in the City brings the “Magic of Camp Namanu” into the city while providing hands-on learning opportunities to combat summer learning loss. Each week will be a unique adventure as campers participate in a variety of activities to have fun and keep their minds and bodies active. In addition, each week, each camp travels to Camp Namanu, a historic, 552 acre resident camp just outside of Sandy, Oregon. We will experience activities like hiking, camp crafts, archery, swimming and enjoy the culture of Namanu.
Build The Schedule That Works for You!
Busy parents have the choice to register campers by the week or “Choose Your Days”. So your youth can stay all week, or just the days that fit your schedule!. Organized programming runs from 9:00am-4:00pm, with early drop off (7:00am to 9:00am) and late pick up (4:00pm-6:00pm) included in the weekly pricing. All camps will attend Camp Namanu at least once a week for a fun-filled day of activities such as hiking, swimming, archery, camp crafts, critter catching and row boating!
This year, you will be able to register by the session or “Choose Your Days.” February 9th – March 24th, register and receive an Early Bird Discount of $25 for each one week session. Pricing and registration dates may vary from site to site depending on partnerships within each community.
Bridges at Nadaka
We also offer a teen leadership program called Bridges at all sites, including our Nadaka location. This two-week program offers two levels: Jr. Leader for 6th – 7th grades and Leader-in Training (LIT) for 7th – 9th grades. Bridges offers a connected pipeline designed to keep young teens involved in positive activities and to prepare them for possible future employment in one of our programs.
If you sign up for Bridges during February 9th -March 24th, you’ll receive an Early Bird Discount of $10 for each one week session. Pricing and registration dates may vary from site to site depending on partnerships within each community.
